When working as a dramaturg I see my role as enabling a writer or company to discover what they want their play to ask its audience, and to enable it to do so truthfully, compellingly and economically. For me, this means a bespoke relationship that is led by your project and your vision for it.

I become involved with projects at all stages, from the kernel of an idea, to plays that have already had a performance and need strengthening ahead of a further run. I am particularly interested in working on projects with a focus on gender, or with voices that we have not traditionally heard on our stages.

"Working with Cressida as a dramaturg was incredible. Not only was she clear, thorough and explorative with her notes but she went above and beyond to make sure she was offering the best support at different points in the writing process. Cressida has a wealth of knowledge and a generous but realistic approach to creating but above all, I found her very easy to work with. It was all this combined that got the best out of my play and out of me as an artist. I highly recommend her work and hope to keep working with her in the future!" Rachel Causer
